BetOnline Review
It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be far more enjoyable…and not as stressful.
I’d wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They have made decisions a few years back that’s probably cost them tens of thousands of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, because of lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our customers — and feel that now they are a trusted and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the whole story before deciding to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What just did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling enjoys to withholding money to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we could show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they lied about what network it was on. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really about the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked off.
Later reports (in BetOnline) suggested that things were nice and fixed, and that BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Though we might lie too if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad way to advertise a new product. It doesn’t exude confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from customers. The justification was almost always because the client allegedly cheated, although no proof was ever provided from BetOnline (from the cases we’ve read).
1 case that caught our attention was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him jobless (for proof).
He got them though. What he did get was empty promises about the way they were on the road, and the runaround when they showed up. They eventually told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories since the documents were too large.
(Anyone who understands anything about online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his money back. His final update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for himbut also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player did do something wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it his friend could have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from the exact same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table — but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas many websites would’ve captured it much earlier ), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS however, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members suggested that most legit websites would never have allowed two people from the same IP to sit in the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the participant’s account would come under inspection. He’d not have the chance to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. But, technically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (that wasn’t any one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline believes they need to have the ability to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we want to share is an instance where a BetOnline rep outed how the employees knew their customer’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a fantastic point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a fantastic answer, just a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is the way these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the exact same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were trying hard to pay their clients.
Thent a couple of months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is dedicated to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “However, since there is a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be run through different fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, including same day choices.”
No one knows exactly how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find over $1.5 million in obligations that was not reported from the prior direction. So I think it would be safe to assume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all businesses face that we’ll address later on in our inspection once it makes sense. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They even have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does this mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they safe enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We will be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d known or heard about any of those reports above. Nobody in their right mind would. You’d be safer lighting your cash on fire.
And we also don’t wish to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be taken lightly.
But since purchasing SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to manage operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable now recommending them to our readers.
And it is not only us. When you look at other BetOnline reviews, then you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers first condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, only to have a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here is where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the latest of which we highlight in our review under.
But, as best as we could tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they currently offer to players. So we feel safe using accounts here.
It’s your responsibility to decide if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past out of the way, let us jump into what is important now — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, gambling choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good selection of banking options. However, you’ll want to remember that what’s available for you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let us begin with their deposit choices.

The biggest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among the other kinds, charging 4.9 percent.

What I don’t like is how you are going to pay a fee for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is usually free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you’ll pay a 2% commission.
That said, I have seen firsthand testimonials from customers who say they’ve received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they’re in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their website, but I’ve seen reports that indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 charge every month if you place in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Can You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. This means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and likely most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on horses, sports and financing.
In their sportsbook they more or less cover the most popular sports in the US. Those include:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Soccer Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football One option they have added recently is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast the business is growing. Every bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, even though it appears as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a big difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think that it’s a good idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this growing market. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports choices in the near future.
What they do have going for them is that their chances on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They’re offering marginally better pricing for the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be the case, nor will it matter if they never enlarge this section of the sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on these.
They offer live betting too. These options change constantly, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for soccer, baseball and tennis. You can even keep tabs on a couple games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and program for future games with their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limits. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering amounts by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair number of promotions, and much more than you’ll find in their own racebook and financials section combined. Some of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races in their webpage. Each listing tells you the number of spacious races there are, which should you click it will expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a good section to search through is their racebook information tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their monitor limits. This tells you that the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you’ll make in case your wager (s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t understand what a word or term means).
It’s a good section if you are new to horse gambling.
And that is about it. This segment is far smaller than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the quality or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your stakes daily without a min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a bet for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include signature, range, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your bet kind.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or marketing BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is among the most well-known alternatives for Americans. They’re part of this Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in total traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they had around 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software upgrade. Previously they had several complaints about the quality of their applications. This included complaints about fuzzy graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But following their update we have seen hints that they might have a few of the best applications in america market.
From worst to best at 1 update? That may be pushing it. But based on the pictures I’ve seen, their applications DOES look better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can improve.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for cellular players, which we think is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game options.
Overall, though, it’s nice to see they’re making improvements and are becoming more aggressive with what other high tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of that, some of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay this out to you $5 at a time. You’ll have 60 days to clean the offer. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a few leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not just a”bonus,” but the games here should be milder because of the US traffic and also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game choices which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gaming and BetSoft software, both of which are known for producing games that are topnotch. Here is the way their games breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to point out here are the accounts I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
One example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his experience, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software is not high quality, I expected them to shine at customer services. How else could you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat support (and I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
Following the live chat session began, I had to wait a couple of minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not just completely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password too. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password to some live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I do not wish to enter that information to a chat room and, what’s more, the query requires no such information because it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten more minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in only a moment…” every now and then.
That said, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline says they provide excellent customer services. In addition, he says that your very best bet is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
